Transfer with and without RotoFlex
The term “transfer“ usually describes the change of position of the patient within an adjuvant or from one adjuvant to another. The change of positions in a hospital bed will point out just a few of the advantages of RotoFlex active rising bed.
To get from a lying into a sitting position, people have to exert their musculature for
- rising their back
- rising the legs and swivel them over the edge of the bed
- turning the whole body to place the legs firmly beside the bed
- straightening up to reach a siiting position.
Persons who are not able to raise enough strength to master this procedure for various reasons need the help of a caring person. This leads to direct dependency. Furthermore bringing the bed-ridden person into sitting position is not only a huge exertion for the nurturing person. It is often painful for the transferred one, too. The nursing persons overload theirself often during this procedure.
The short sequence
transfer-comparison will make this procedure clear. A transfer in a usual hospital bed is contrasted with the same procedure in a RotoFlex active rising bed.
